I really love the game so far, but I'm having some trouble with selecting and using items in the inventory. Is this due to using a laptop and playing in browser? If so I'd appreciate any help I can get
i had the same problem with the north! just go north of (or above) the museum, and walk along the trees, you'll find the entrance to the north area (its centered to the museum, if that makes sense?) as for the inventory, i dont know if you can select items within it, just because i dont think its ever needed in the game (if you have the relevant item in your inventory, then just interacting with things should get the intended result, at least in my experience!)
ive played this for hours, and i am completely unable to tear myself away from it. i am absolutely going to get and emulator and buy taifab plus i loved this game. dont know what im going to do now that im finished. ive never played a picross game before but this was such a good introduction!!! i cant wait to play anything else you put out!!!!
oh no! i got up to the last bubble in the post-game and it said "You must solve 201 puzzles to summon Chad. You have 200." and the bubble does not summon Chad. I was not aware of the 200 puzzle requirement and I don't think I did anything to sequence-break - let me know if there's some way I can send you more information
If I understand correctly, you have solved 200 puzzles?
You need to solve 201 in order for Chad to appear in the final room. Is your puzzle album completely full? Do you need help finding a missing puzzle? :)
Omg, I read it wrong like 5 different times. I'm so sorry!! I cannot apologize enough.
I loved the game!! Extremely Game Boy vibes in visuals and tone, I wish I had the hardware setup to play it on mine. And lovely renditions of classical pieces as well! Thank you so much! Happy Chadiversary! ๐ฆ ๐ชผ ๐ฆ โ๏ธ ๐ผ ๐ฃ ๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
No worries! I'm just glad you got it worked out. ๐
I'm really happy you enjoyed the game, and thank you so much for your kind comments!! I'm always relieved when folks say they enjoyed the music. I had never sequenced music before (outside of like, Animal Crossing's town theme or the Pokemon Pikachu electronic pet, and now I feel really old, lol).
You're officially the first commenter to mention the Toki Pona puzzles to me! ๐ I'm glad you enjoyed the kijetesantakalu โค๏ธ๐ฆ I follow jan Sonja on Bsky, and she put out a call for puzzles for an upcoming book. I think she wants riddles and language puzzles, but I sent her my nonograms anyway just in case. It was nice just to tell her that I enjoy the language and get an email back from her. ๐
Thank you so much for you kind comment! GG, and I'm really glad you had fun! ๐
If you played the original release, it has 202 puzzles in total. If you purchase TaiFab for at least $1, you can download the Plus version, which has some new quality-of-life features and 6 extra puzzles (208 in total). ๐
this game looks really cool, but it wont play on web? its just the objet discret screen and it wont load the actual game. this does look very fun though, and i love nonogram puzzles! i just cant actually play lol
Ah, you have to press one of the gameplay buttons (such as the Enter key) to advance from the logo screen. :) If you try that and still have trouble, please let me know! Sorry for any confusion.
Never did a nonogram or picross in my life but this is super addicting. After a tutorial and a video on YouTube I haven't been able to put this down I just had to buy the plus version. Thank you for this one.
im loving this game sm!!!!! i have a deep love for nonogram games with story and exploration, the puzzles are fun and engaging and the art is so cozy and pretty too!
also, can anyone help me with the jellyfish missing item? i've seen the comments saying it's on the moon bed and breakfast but everything i can find there is the bed that says my sleep is shallow and dreamless and the fireplace that says the fire is too hot (i've completed all the puzzles i could find minus the locked room on the gallery, the bucket near the dev house that says i can't reach and feeding the croc bc of the fire again)
I usually just play these games in the browser, but I downloaded an emulator just for this game. I'm really excited to spend more time with this game, and get more into other gb games!
I've really enjoyed this game and I have almost 100%'d it (200/202?). I think at some point, though, I started brute forcing the puzzles lol.
Also, can someone point me in the right direction? I have 1 missing from the small 8x8 album and 1 other one that I think I already know what it is. I feel like I've searched everywhere for it, but I can't find it.
I'm really glad that you're enjoying the game, and I thank you for commenting! Have you gone behind the counter to talk to the innkeeper yet? She has different dialogue. ;)
I've been absolutely loving this game, and to anyone reading the comments, go play the game!
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I learn how to "swim well"? I've completed all of the shovel nonograms, all of the ones in the museum, all of the signs, all of the teleportation leaves, and the extras in the Dev room, but I still can't seem to access any of the fish powers besides Chad.
Besides that, I love this game, and will definitely recommend it to others!
That's not a stupid question, and I'm glad you asked! Have you read the signs in the museum after solving their puzzles? :) There's an interesting object on the back wall. Thanks for your kind comment and I'm happy that you like the game!
Hi, I hope you're doing well. Since you were so wonderful last time helping me, I was wondering if you could help me with one more thing. I have gotten every single picture in all of the albums except for these 5 in the large album. I've been looking everywhere and I have no idea how to get them. Could I borrow your help again?
I absolutely adore the game. I love the maritime theme and especially the mermaid. Almost couldn't stop playing before I finished the main part.
I enjoyed that the nonograms aren't too big. The nonograms themselves are also different from other games. I can't quite get my head around why, but I found them more fun.
From time to time I would have liked a few more dialogs. E.g. at the empty aquariums in the museum.
I've already recommended the game to my friends. Now I'm hoping for a sequel!
Thank you for your kind comment and thoughtful feedback! I am so incredibly happy that you enjoyed the game! Comments like this really make my day ๐
this is such a cool game :)) ive never really played a game like this but its so fun
i cant find the item for the jellyfish tho. i already checked the other comments with the hints about the moon bed and breakfast and ive located the duck locks but im still very confused
also is the pot by the fire supposed to be accessible at some point or no
thanks to /r/picross and retro achievements for making me aware of this game. The puzzles are very good and the adventure game aspects were a good break from the puzzle solving. Iโm looking forward to the sequel.
I absolutely love this game! The credits nearly made me cry. It just has a lovely charm and good puzzles. However, I cant find the puzzles for the last row in the Large Album. I've found everything else and finished the party at the end but it says I'm five puzzles short. Any tips?
However, I think I'm stuck or missing something. I can't continue through the Bed and Breakfast. I've done the puzzle the person behind the desk gives you and the puzzle in the pot, but when I try to continue it says to talk to the person behind the desk. Is there something I'm missing?
This is a fantastic game! It really captures the feeling of one of those hidden gem GB games. A little mysterious, rewards you for poking your nose into absolutely everything, and super fun. I love a nonogram game with other gameplay in the mix, and I actually love the submit-to-confirm puzzle system too. It's making me better at scanning for errors and figuring out how to fix them (and I've played a ton of nonogram games before). Also there's SO many puzzles! The main game itself is great but I unlocked the bonus area earlier and was blown away by all the extra puzzles waiting for me.
Just one question (hints welcome!): where are the rest of the ducks? I only have four somehow.
I'm loving this game! I love picross games so much and love the added complexity of numbers not being auto-crossed off and having to submit to se if it's correct. I'm a bit stuck though. I can't find the item to get the jellyfish and I feel like I've really been everywhere!
Thanks for your comment, and I am so glad you like the game! Columbrine has given you a good hint--you'll need to explore the Moon Cottage Bed & Breakfast to find the Jellyfish's missing stone. :)
I'm sorry for getting to this comment late! I missed the notification somehow.
No worries! What a sneaky little hidden bit, I love it! This game is so much fun and I love all the extras :) I finished the main bit and was so excited to see all the bonus puzzles!
Thanks so much! I am happy to say that I have been working on a sequel to TaiFab, and my hope is to release it this year.
I do not have a Ko-Fi, but I have been thinking about it. ๐ I will certainly make an announcement if I do! You can find me on Bsky if you'd like. https://bsky.app/profile/objetdiscret.itch.io
Thank you for making this. I've played a ton of picross games, and I've never seen one that makes you submit the puzzle when you think you're done. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it, but I actually like the idea a lot. The no punishments or indications of when you hit a wrong square is only figured out by your own merits when you correctly/incorrectly submit it at the end. I also really like the story, good stuff. My only critique is the controls are a little slidey in the puzzles.
I adore Picross and this game was such a treat. In fact, this may well be the best homebrew I've ever played; it's really well made and feels like a complete package of the same calibre of any big studio GBC release of that era.
Thoroughly enjoyed getting to 202% (took me ~10h). The setting, story and friendly vibes make this such a nice game to wind down with. The simple adventure feel paired with Picross goes so well and I would be very excited if a sequel was ever released.
I also absolutely loved the chiptune versions of the various classical pieces, was a very pleasant surprise to come across some of my favourites as I was playing.
This comment means a lot to me, and I truly appreciate that you took the time to write it. I'm pleased to say that I have been working on a sequel (although I took a brief hiatus on that to work on an update to the first TaiFab--I'm going to a gaming convention this weekend and hopefully bringing physical copies of the game)!
It's really gratifying to read comments from players like you. Thank you so much!
Played a few official Picross games recently from across the Nintendo consoles and I genuinely feel that this surpasses all of them. Thank you for hours of puzzle fun!

oh awesome!! cant wait to play it when it comes out :D
After days of playing, I finally got the 202% completion. Such a cute, endearing game that I absolutely fell in love with. Adored every second!
Thank you so much for saying so! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and I hope you will look forward to the sequel! :D
this is wonderful and i completely love it! is this a bug?
Hmm, if you have a screenshot there, I can't see it. :( So I'm not sure what you're referring to.
